Saturday morning is pretty fun when you've had a WHOLE night's sleep!

It's official.

Presley went to bed at 9:00pm last night and slept until 8:00am! It's a big deal! We had the funnest morning and then she had a good nap at about 9:30am until 12:30am!!! What!?

Rocky happy. Baby happy. Rocky happy.

I know that as soon as you think you've got the hang of it, everything will go to crap, but I'm in love with this whole having-a-child-and-watching-her-grow thing. If you click on the picture of her sleeping, you can really see those hands getting chubbier and chubbier! LOVE IT! OWN IT!

Also included in this post are pics from Mom's50th Birthday celebration. Pretty fun. I don't want to go too into it or else everyone that wasn't there will feel bad they didn't get to be a part of it. Big thanks, though, to my brother and sisters that sent in their reports. You know who you are!

Oh, and it's just evidence of my lack of vanity that I posted the one of all the girls. Yowza. Rocky happy but Rocky look like Big Pink Balloon in that shirt. Why doesn't Paul warn me of these things!!

LESI! 18 big ones today!

It's LEXI'S 18th Birthday today and I wanted to post a little love for my youngest sister.

I was looking through my pics from the past couple of years and I realized I have so many of Lexi and I together, from that crazy trek we did up in Wisconsin with the whole Wood family, to pool parties, to baby showers, to dressing up to see Fergie in concert, to pre-dance or date pics after I've done her makeup.

She lets me be the older sister and makes me feel so good about it. She says that she feels badly for people without older siblings and I'll go one further and say that it's the ones without younger sisters that really have it bad.

She's going away to college this year and I just want her to know, on her special day, how much she means to me and how she enriches the lives of everyone around her. She's the best of us and we love her!

Baby Daddy

Okay, so I'm sure most fathers love their children. I honestly don't know what I expected, but Paul's complete adoration of Presley surprises me! He loves waking her up in the morning, loves coming home to her and doesn't mind getting up with her at night. It's a little corny, but he really is a fantastic father. I love it.

I'm not doing this right! Wah!

My posts are out of order...me stupid.

So we went to John's Grill for dinner, which was super nice and yummy. I think that eating the dinner may have actually taken less time than it took to divide the stinkin bill. KT was a very poor accountant.

After dinner, we tried to get a trolley to get a hot fudge sundae, but it wasn't coming and Ghiradelli closed at 11, so Lins hailed some random couple with a Land Rover and they took all 8 of us! They also took some random woman that was waiting for the trolley with us. I think, if you count my double chin as a friend, you can see everyone!

San Francisco TREAT

Okay, my vacay to San Fran was every bit as fun as I expected it might be. 8 girls, 10 years after graduating from high school, travelling to San Fran with better credit cards! What could be better! We started snapping pics the minute we got on the plane, annoying everyone else, for sure.

We sang Kareoke one night and KT, in rare form, sang "Boyz in the Hood" and pretty much brought the house down. She's hard like that.

On the last day, KT, Lins and I went to Alcatraz and it was actually VERY cool. It prevented me from using the last 3 hours to shop, so Paul is loving that I chose history over H&M.
Also, it was FINALLY cool that day, so I got to wear my scarf and sweater! Why do I live where we all just melt?

I'm leaving on a jet plane!

I'm going to San Francisco with my best girlfriends from HS this weekend. In no particular order, here is why I'm the happiest girl on the block.

1. Ghirardelli Square - hot fudge sundae that could take over the world if a hot fudge sundae was so inclined.
2. Sleep - all night long, all night, all night, all night long (think Lionel Richie song) with no baby to feed, husband to roll over to cease snoring, crazy banging cars going by in the alley behind us, etc...
3. Shopping - Paul is giving me a vacay budget and I intend to stretch it as far as it will take me.
4. Hotel - Carrie managed to swing an amazing hotel right in the heart of downtown with upgrade!
5. Weather - it's going to be cool! I get to wear my jackets and pants and all those layers to cover up the Raquelly-belly that may just be here to stay.
6. COMING HOME - I get to come home to my favorite little girl and my best friend. Cheeseball huh! The best part of going away is getting to come home to such a great life.

Thoughts on mommy-hood

I can truly say that I appreciate being a mom when I look at myself in the mirror, see what I've got going on, and instead of self-medicating with Chocolate Haagan Daas, I squish my wobbly bits to see if Presley will laugh.
It's everything I'd hoped it would be.
Hee hee! She looks so old to me! She seems to like the Bumbo. And, I know that none of these posts are groundbreaking, but Presley's aunt Carly has inspired me to put new stuff up so she doesn't feel like she's missing anything!
We love you Carly!

First voices

She's making some of her first little sounds and I LOVE it! You'll just hear me yammering on and on but she comes through...more to come now that I know how to post video!

Wanny Panny

There's not quite enough light, but I thought this was a funny face. I think this is the most pronounced frown I have ever seen on such a small face. Her black hole eyes are kinda freaky though...

What's going on...

It's been some time since I last posted and much has been going on! I'll just post a few pics with a few comments to catch up, most especially for those that are usually around and aren't (the Ryan Wood family.) :)

Happy Father's Day! Here are the two most important people in my life. I knew when I married him that Paul was really the only man for me, what I didn't know that he was going to be the best father I could ask for. He adores Presley and shows it by caring for her when the going is good and when the going is not so smooth. He'll take her smiling and he'll take her bawling with the same calm demeanor.

We enjoyed spending most of Father's Day with the Petersen clan at a cabin in Heber. Nice weather, good food and great company made for a wonderful weekend.

This was just a couple of days ago. We got her this new little play mat and she seems to really like it. Aubry recommended it and it looks like a winner.

May 19, 2008 - Bath time in the sink! She's too big to fit anymore. Wah!
